Description
The latest version of the
Bloodfang, Prince Thrakath's personal fighter, is
said to be a pound for pound match with the contemporary
Excalibur class. The effectiveness of the Bloodfang
makes you wonder why those cat engineer pukes don't
wise up and build more of these things for their
elite pilots. Good for us that they don't... but
then again it might be because of the same reasons
we don't mass produce the Excalibur. An extremely
powerful fighter that combines speed with heavy
hitting power of two heavy guns. The interesting
thing about this craft is the heavy rear shielding,
which suggests that the Prince learned his lesson
from getting blown out of his previous Bloodfang...
it also makes his craft a cast-iron pain in the
ass to take down from the rear. ()

The Darket is a light fighter
with jump capabilities and an incredibly fast turn
rate. Its light armor and shielding are counter-balanced
by its speed and acceleration, making it difficult
to track in battle. ()

Description
If you were running around
Kilrathi space back in the 2650's you were bound
to run in to Dralthis even more than asteroids.
These things were ubiquitous, possibly even more
so than the lighter Salthis. Flatter than pancakes
and sporting only two lasers, the Dralthis have
as much punch as the our Hornet, but are slightly
better armored. A medium fighter in every sense
of the word, this is pretty much your typical Kilrathi
fighter. ()

Description
Pesky as Darkets, the Ekapshi's
pack quite a punch with their quad Laser and dual
Meson Blaster mounts. Throw in four HS missiles,
and you sure don't want to get alot of these guys
on your tail. A surprising note is that the Ekapshi
is one of the faster craft in the Kilrathi arsenal,
and it is also one of the most heavily armored.
Only the Paktahn has heavier shields than the Ekapshi,
and many rookie pilots act surprised when the Ekapshi
doesn't immediately fold under their energy beams
like a Strakha or a Darket would. These tiny buggers
always attack in packs, multiplying their armament
strength and their deadliness. I for one can tell
you that flying mud missions against these guys
are a pain in the ass. Luckily for us, most Kilrathi
look down on drawing atmospheric duty, instead opting
for careers involving space-based craft, so even
though the Ekapshi is arguably their best all-around
fighter, most of the pilots who man them are sub-par.

Description
The Kilrathi Gothri can pose
a very real threat to any ship in the Gemini Sector.
With its impressive acceleration, it can reach high
velocities. When you are facing a Gothri in combat,
you should concentrate on its weak armor. A few
well-placed concentrated bursts of gunfire can severely
damage this fighter. However, it is not that easy
to close on it. The Gothri is very maneuverable
and can easily down you first with its array of
blasters. ()

Description
The Jalkehi is one of those
classification anomalies. The shields and armor
are thinner than some medium fighters, but the gun
and missile armament, as well as the size, definitely
put it in the heavy category. The quad lasers have
a good punch at long ranges, and alot of pilots
have observed Jalkehi pilots opening fire at extreme
ranges. The four image recognition missiles bolster
the attack value of this craft significantly, and
the sole dumbfire, added almost as an afterthought
gives the Jalkehi some quick strike capability against
capital ships. The top speed and maneuverability
are nothing to shout about, but both are decent
enough to give you a run for your money in a dogfight.
Not to mention that the rear neutron gun can catch
you with your pants down if you tail too closely.
All in all, a solid heavy fighter, with a strange
mixture of characteristics. ()

Description
These craft are one of the
most deadly pieces of machinery that the Cats can
throw at you. Slow as heck, but sure pack a big
wallop - not to mention carry a decent missile armament.
Don't get me wrong, these craft aren't invincible,
but they are deadly. After learning to fight them
in the sim and in the real deal, I learned the best
way to make it home alive is to use your speed and
maneuverability advantage to stay out of the cone
of fire of the six lasers. At the first head on
pass, try to swing around the front, slow down to
fight them, and for pete's sake, never NEVER overshoot.
If you overshoot, yu may find yourself kissin' nebula.
All in all, a solid craft that demands respect.

Description
The maneuverability may lead
you to believe that this thing is just a, well,
a rock, but the decent top speed, which rivals our
Thunderbolt VII, as well as the dual Meson blaster,
quad Reaper cannon armament can really ruin your
day. The interesting warhead loadout of sixteen
mines is somewhat surprising, but effective around
jump points and choke points in asteroid fields.
However, the most observed usage of the mines is
to eliminate pilots following too close to its rear,
somehthing like a warhead turret. Damned tricky
and damned effective. Your missile warning light
won't go off since nothings locked on you, but the
mines are deadly in a light fighter with light to
moderate damage. Perhaps the most interesting thing
is that the K Ha Haf has the heftiest shields and
armor of any fighter craft in existence. Most of
this is due to the rock slabs that are attached
to the hull which acts as a sort of blast deflecting
natural form of durasteel. ()

Description
The Kilrathi Paktahn is similar
to the Longbow by virtue of its torpedo attack capabilities.
With two torpedo hardpoints and an impressive array
of guns, this bomber can engage several fighters
during a single run. Terran Intelligence reprots
that Paktahns often fly with Dralthi or Darket escorts.

Description
Huge pieces of machinery,
these Kilrathi beasts are a tough nut to take down.
Not necessarily because they can dogfight well,
but you can't get too close or those Meson turrets'll
rip you to shreds. The eight missile loadout rounds
ou the impressive armament on this large craft.
Funny thing is, the Sorthak isn't much larger than
our own Longbow, it's just that it's a wide ship
and somewhat resembles a corvette. The max speed
ain't to shabby, and the maneuverability is better
than what you'd expect it to be, but she's such
a big target she almost attracts cannon fire. Good
thing for her is that she can take a lot of punishment.
For once the Kilrathi engineers got it right, rear
shielding is more important than forward shielding
in an attack fighter. The deadly combination of
the heavy rear shields and twin turrets is something
you should be aware of when flying against it. Alot
of pilots have snuck up on it and emptied their
guns, only to find the Sorthak dented, and a whole
lotta green beams headed back their way. ()

in mass production, the Strakha is a recon ship

ten minutes. ()
