Avenger (*)

Description

The Union of Border Worlds equivalent to the Confederation's Longbow torpedo bomber, the Avenger is the equal, if not superior to the Longbow in almost all respects. Mounting a wide array of guns and carrying an impressive warhead loadout, the Avenger is well equipped to deal with any capital ships that come across its path. (TCE)

Banshee

Description

A new light fighter developed for the Union of Border Worlds, the Banshee boasts heavier shields than most other light fighters and carries a wide array of energy guns. The high maneuverability of this craft make it an excellent choice for CAP and fleet escort. (TCE)

Vindicator (*)

Description

The Vindicator is the jack-of-all-trades, but as the cliche goes, it's also the master of none. With mediocre speed and maneuverability, the Vindicator isn't going to outfly any craft out there. The gun armament is pretty vicious, with dual lasers and dual tachyons, as well as two stormfire cannons and two leeches, and can dispatch you quickly if you're not careful. The missile armament is extremely interesting. Six missiles and three torpedoes constitute a deadly mix to capital ships and fighters alike. In my opinion the Vind is a strike fighter, not really suited to dogfighting, but extremely deadly in the attack role. In a one-on-one battle with most contemporary fighters, the Vind is pretty much a dead turkey, but it performs passably in the interception role, and is the only fighter in the Border Worlds inventory with atmospheric capability, making it invaluable to the Border Worlds Marines. I think though, that the multiplicity of abilities that the Vindicator has makes it suspect in any single mission role. However, a solid fighter, but not exemplary for most missions. (TCE)
